The process

Here’s how you can get involved in developing ISO standards, step by step.

Testimonials

Hear from organizations already shaping the future through ISO standards.

For us the benefits [of participating in the development of standards] are twofold. First we bring our experience and expertise in chemicals and pharmaceuticals to the table. And second, we thereby ensure that our interests gain attention.

Dr Wolfgang Grosse Entrup, Head of Environment and Sustainability, Bayer AG, Germany

The payoff for engaging in standards work is greater than many small business people realize. Standards are both important and interesting. For a company like Baltic Safety, it’s essential to get involved with the working groups so we can get started early with our planning for future designs and production methods. Globalization means that ISO standards are key for any company that hopes to succeed in export markets.

Per Frode, CEO Baltic Safety Products, Sweden

FAQ

A National Standards Body (NSB) is the official organization responsible for developing and promoting national standards in a specific country. It also represents that country in ISO.

You can find the NSB for your country in the ISO members list, where each member is listed with contact details. Click the Contact your NSB button.

If your country isn’t an ISO member, you can’t participate directly in ISO technical work through a National Standards Body. However, you can contact ISO directly to explore other ways to get involved or learn more about membership options.
