Under ISO’s strategic programme ‘Customer Matters’, we have launched a series of workshops dedicated to standard users’ needs.

Objective

Our goal is to establish a permanent forum to meet Customers and learn more about your current experiences, challenges and future expectations around standardization. We are keen to explore a variety of Customer needs by regions, sectors, types of needs, audiences, and walk Customer journeys together. After doing so, we aim to improve and evolve through the smooth incorporation of detected needs into ISO’s current projects, programmes and operational processes. We are looking forward to this exciting collaboration!

Target Audience

As part of the workshops programme there will be a series of presentations and a panel discussion. We are seeking to have at least one participant (customer) per region make 15-20 mins. presentations each, and at least one participant (customer) per region to be part of the panel discussion.

The International Federation of Standards Users (IFAN) is an independent, not-for-profit international association of national organizations for the application of standards, and companies, professional and trade associations, academia, conformity assessment bodies, consultancies and governmental agencies, that are concerned with the use of standards.

In her role as the Secretary of International Federation of Standards Users (IFAN), Andrea is supporting the collaboration with ISO towards hearing, exploring, understanding and promoting the standards users’ needs.

In his role as Director of Standardization at ABNT, Nelson is responsible for the standards development,  with more than 270 National Committees and more than 25.000 national experts.

Nelson has served in Standardization for 21 years, 16 of them - as  Head of IT responsible for the digital transformation of the Brazilian organization.

Nelson has been a Member of ISO/TMB from  2021 to 2023, and member of ISO/ITSAG since 2017 dealing with the convergence and innovation on the business model of standards adding digital technologies as well as new approaches to the business model.

Richa is the technical expert and Senior Standards Manager for Global Standard for Food Safety and START! at BRCGS where she is responsible for developing, maintaining the value and growth of both programs globally, while having previously managed the Storage and Distribution Standard. Richa completed her Master’s in Food Technology- Quality Assurance from the University of Reading in the UK.  During her 14-year career Richa has worked in a variety of roles associated with food safety and quality management including food manufacturing, food service and retail sector as well as the logistics industry. 

She is passionate about finding ways to successfully make sector issues tangible for a wide variety of standard users, facilitating better understanding and developing guidance on related themes to support the industry.

Fernando has been active in the standards world since 2006, playing various roles since then. His technology career started as customer when, in 1999, he moved to the technology provider side. Fernando is member of JTC 1/SC 27 as delegate, and JTC 1/SC38 and JTC 1/SC 40 where he acts as Head of Delegation. Fernando is also Convenor of JTC 1/SC 38/WG 5 since 2014. In 2021 Fernando was appointed as Chairman of the ABNT/CB-021 Brazilian Committee on Information Technologies and Digital Transformation.

Ye Chen received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Zhejiang University, China, in 2018 and 2021, respectively. She is currently a researcher with the Research Center for Standardization, Zhejiang Lab. Her research interests include power system operation and planning, and the standardization of intelligent system. 

Zhejiang Lab is focusing on five areas including intelligent perception, artificial intelligence, intelligent computing, intelligent networks, and intelligent systems, and carries out research on cutting-edge and fundamental topics, explores key technologies, develops core systems, and builds large-scale technology infrastructure and major research platforms.
